Partner Referral Program for MSPs | Telmetra Guide

How Telmetra's partner referral program works for MSPs: org-owned links, ~20% commission, Stripe vs bank revenue, invoices, and SEPA payouts.

A partner referral program should be clear about who earns, what counts as revenue, and how payouts work—before anyone shares a link.

Telmetra’s Partner Referral Program is built for MSPs, IT consultants, communities, and vendors that already recommend remote support and monitoring tools. Partners share an organization-owned referral link; when referred customers pay for eligible subscriptions, the partner organization earns a recurring commission on collected eligible revenue.

Income is not guaranteed. Commercial defaults below describe the current program settings and the Partner Referral Agreement terms partners accept at activation; negotiated rates and counsel-reviewed agreement versions may apply for strategic partners.

Answer first

Telmetra’s partner referral program lets an eligible organization activate once, share a unique referral link or code, and earn a recurring commission (default 20%) on eligible subscription revenue actually collected from attributed customer organizations—via Stripe payment events or bank invoices based on billable used slots—then invoice Telmetra and receive SEPA EUR payouts after hold and verification rules.

Quick steps

  1. Create a Telmetra account (or sign in) and open the Partner Program as an organization admin.
  2. Complete partner legal and SEPA bank details, confirm authority, and accept the Partner Referral Agreement.
  3. Copy your organization-owned referral URL (/r/{code}) or code from the partner dashboard.
  4. Share the link or code with prospective customers; attribution locks when a new customer organization registers with that referral.
  5. Commission accrues when Telmetra collects eligible subscription revenue (Stripe or bank invoice).
  6. After the validation hold, upload your tax invoice when the available balance meets the minimum payout.
  7. Telmetra pays approved invoiced balances to the partner organization’s IBAN via SEPA EUR.

Key takeaways

  • The referral relationship and earnings belong to the partner organization, not a single personal affiliate account.
  • Default commercial settings: ~20% commission, €50 minimum payout, 30-day hold, EUR / SEPA, invoice required before payment.
  • Eligible revenue is money actually collected for subscription capacity, excluding taxes, refunds, chargebacks, credits, and free service (including the free endpoint allowance).
  • Bank-invoice commission uses billable used slots, not empty purchased inventory.
  • v1 attribution uses the referral link/code and short-lived signup session state—not non-essential marketing cookies for cross-session tracking.

Who the program is for

The program is aimed at B2B referrers who already talk to IT buyers:

Audience Typical fit
MSPs / managed service providers Recommend Telmetra alongside delivery of remote control and monitoring for clients
IT consultants / freelancers Refer customer organizations that need a secure remote IT stack
Communities / educators Share a stable org-owned link with members evaluating tools
Vendors / complementary products Point mutual customers at Telmetra without becoming a reseller by default

Partners remain independent referral participants. Activating the program does not by itself make you an employee, agent, reseller, or distributor of Telmetra unless separately agreed in writing.

How the partner referral program works

The operational loop is intentionally short:

  1. Activate — An org admin accepts the Partner Referral Agreement and provides legal identity plus SEPA bank details.
  2. Share — Use the unique referral link or code from the partner dashboard.
  3. Customers register — First valid attribution locks when a new customer organization registers with that referral (or via authorized Telmetra manual attribution).
  4. Earn — Commission is calculated on collected eligible subscription revenue and held for the validation period.
  5. Invoice — When approved balance meets the minimum, upload a PDF tax invoice.
  6. SEPA payout — Telmetra pays the partner organization in EUR to the IBAN on file.

Day-to-day partner status, referral list, pending vs available commission, and payout history live under /Partner after activation. The public overview remains on the partner program page.

Eligibility and commercial defaults

These are the current product defaults (configurable per deployment and locked into the agreement version at acceptance). They are commercial program terms, not income promises.

Term Default
Commission rate 20% of eligible subscription revenue (negotiated rates supported for strategic partners)
Payout currency EUR
Payout method SEPA transfer to the partner organization’s bank details
Minimum payout €50 (balances below the threshold carry forward)
Hold / validation 30 days after the commission event (unless the accepted agreement states otherwise)
Attribution window 90 days before registration, where privacy rules and session retention allow
Who owns the link The partner organization
Invoice Partner tax invoice (PDF) required before payout
First payout May be conditioned on Telmetra verification of legal identity and bank details

Self-referral, circular referral, or attribution obtained by fraud, scraping, or unauthorized use of marks is void under the agreement.

What counts as eligible revenue

Eligible Subscription Revenue means amounts Telmetra actually receives for subscription capacity of a referred customer organization, excluding VAT and other taxes, refunds, chargebacks, credits, free service (including the free endpoint allowance), fraudulent or voided transactions, and other amounts Telmetra reasonably designates as non-commissionable.

How collection is measured differs by billing path:

Billing path Commission basis
Stripe (card / online collection) Payment or invoice event after confirmed collection (ex-tax net where available)
Bank transfer against a Telmetra customer invoice Billable used capacity on that invoice—typically used slots less free allowance, × slot price—not empty purchased slots

Commission is recurring for so long as attributable eligible revenue continues under the locked attribution rate and program rules then in force. Telmetra may reverse or adjust commission for refunds, chargebacks, credits, voids, fraud, duplicate events, or administrative error; negative adjustments can reduce future available balances.

Privacy-friendly attribution

Attribution is designed to stay compatible with privacy-conscious signup flows:

  • Visitors hit /r/{code}; Telmetra stores the code in short-lived server-side session state for the registration flow and can pass the code into signup.
  • Registrants may also enter a referral code manually on the registration form.
  • First valid partner attribution is locked at new organization registration (or via authorized Telmetra staff manual attribution).
  • v1 does not rely on non-essential marketing cookies for cross-session partner referral tracking.

For how referral and partner data are described in legal terms, see the Privacy Policy §11a and Cookie Policy §9. Program commercial framing also appears in Terms of Service §10.4.

Payouts, invoices, and verification

Once commission clears the hold period and moves to an available balance:

  1. Confirm the available amount meets the €50 minimum (or the minimum locked in your agreement).
  2. Upload a valid PDF tax invoice from the partner dashboard.
  3. Telmetra reviews and, when approved, pays via SEPA EUR to the beneficiary IBAN on file.
  4. The first payout may wait until finance verifies partner legal and bank details (hybrid activation model).

Partners are responsible for keeping legal and bank details accurate and for their own tax treatment of commission. Marketing must stay truthful and lawful: no spam, no unauthorized warranties or SLAs, and no misrepresentation of pricing, features, or affiliation.

Common pitfalls

The program is organization-owned. Use the dashboard referral URL/code for your partner org so attribution and payouts stay with the correct legal entity.

Expecting commission on free or unpaid usage

Free service—including the free endpoint allowance—and unpaid capacity do not create eligible revenue.

Assuming bank invoices pay on purchased seats sitting empty

For bank-invoiced customers, commission follows billable used slots reflected on the invoice, not unused purchased inventory.

v1 attribution is registration-time code/link plus short-lived signup session state. Cross-session marketing-cookie tracking is intentionally out of scope.

Treating defaults as guaranteed earnings

Referral volume, conversion, and customer retention vary. The agreement explicitly states there is no guaranteed income.

When this program may not fit

The partner referral program is a good fit when you want a transparent, org-owned referral relationship with recurring commission on collected subscription revenue and SEPA payouts after invoicing.

It is probably not the right fit if you need:

  • a classic multi-tier affiliate network with cookie-heavy cross-site tracking
  • guaranteed minimum payouts or marketing funds unrelated to collected revenue
  • automatic reseller, white-label, or distribution rights without a separate written agreement
  • payouts in currencies other than EUR / non-SEPA methods as the default path

Those limits are deliberate for v1 clarity—not a promise that every channel model will be added later.

FAQ

What is Telmetra’s partner referral program for MSPs?

It is an organization-owned referral program where MSPs and other eligible partners share a unique link or code and earn a recurring commission on eligible subscription revenue collected from attributed customer organizations, subject to the accepted Partner Referral Agreement.

How does the Telmetra partner referral program work?

Activate as an org admin, share your referral link or code, earn when referred customers pay eligible subscription charges, wait out the hold period, upload a tax invoice, and receive SEPA EUR payout when approved. The public overview is on the partner program page; enrolled partners manage day-to-day activity under /Partner.

What is the default commission rate?

The default rate is 20% of eligible subscription revenue. Strategic partners may negotiate a different rate, which is locked into the accepted agreement version.

What revenue is eligible for partner commission?

Eligible revenue is subscription money actually collected by Telmetra for referred customers, excluding taxes, refunds, chargebacks, credits, free service, and other non-commissionable amounts. Stripe uses confirmed payment/invoice collection; bank invoices use billable used slots.

Does Telmetra use marketing cookies for referral attribution?

No for v1 cross-session tracking. Attribution prefers the referral link/code at registration and short-lived server-side session state for the signup flow, not non-essential marketing cookies.

Is income from the partner referral program guaranteed?

No. Referral volume, retention, and commission amounts vary. Telmetra does not guarantee minimum income, conversion rates, or continued availability of any particular commercial term beyond what is locked for already-attributed customers under the agreement.

Who can activate the Partner Program?

An organization administrator with authority to bind the partner organization, after accepting the Partner Referral Agreement and providing required legal and bank details.
